Cedar Park Parents Invited To Online Discussion On Race, Racism
Lewin Education & Consulting will host an online session of discussions on effective ways to speak to your child about race and racism.
CEDAR PARK, TX—Cedar Park-area adults, parents and caregivers are invited to an insightful discussion on ways to discuss race and racism with children and hosted by Lewin Education and Consulting. Several online sessions will be held and will offer opportunities to learn why it's important to talk about race and racism with kids, and how to do it.
Scheduled Saturday, Jan. 16, Saturday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 30 at 12 p.m., the conversations are intended to build the foundations for raising compassionate children that embrace and value differences. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions, and the focus of the discussions will be on:
- What does it mean to be an Anti-Racist?
- Recognizing my “Why”
- Do my children see color?
- How to talk about race
- White supremacy culture
- Modeling
- The power of silence
- What approach to take with friends and family
- Tangible next steps
- And more...
