Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. During its Jul. 28 meeting, the Cedar Park City Council voted to table a proposed amendment that would have allowed high-density residential housing located just northwest of the intersection of East Whitestone Boulevard and Toro Grande Boulevard. The property is nearly 10 acres and is a portion of a future 22.5-acre mixed-use development. Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin stated Cedar Park is trying to attract more commercial development. (Community Impact)
  2. Starting today, Aug. 1, traffic turning to and from Main Street at New Hope Dr. will detour to Enchanted Rock Dr., which will last for several days. The detour is due to repairs that are needed to the water line in this area. Contractors will work extended hours to complete the job as soon as possible. (City of Cedar Park, Texas-City Government)
  3. Leander Public Library is hosting its Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party today, Aug. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The library is inviting the community to close out its summer reading program with a family-friendly party. The party will include free snow cones, field games, crafts, a movie, and lots of treasure. (Leander Public Library)
