Hill Country Flyer Offers Glimpse Into The Old West
Passengers aboard the Hill Country Flyer explore the Texas Hill Country with a layover that includes a Wild West gunfight re-enactment.
CEDAR PARK, TX — This Spring, families will have the opportunity to make memories and catch a glimpse of the Wild West with a unique travel experience. The Hill Country Flyer at Austin Steam Train invites you to hop aboard its historic train and discover the undisturbed beauty of the Texas Hill Country, as you cross the wooden trestle bridge overlooking the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon.
The voyage will include a two hour layover in Burnet, where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch, stroll the historic town square, and view an Old West shootout that transports you back in time. The afternoon concludes with the relaxing journey back to the Cedar Park Depot. The train experience offers a 66 mile ride that is 6 hours round trip including a 2 hour layover.
