Leander Active Adult Programs Offers March Trips Throughout Texas

LEANDER, TX— The City of Leander Parks and Recreation hosts activities, event and trips designed to appeal to the 55+ community in Leander and surrounding areas, and membership for this increasing popular program is offered at no cost to participants. Each month the program offers recreation and leisure activities, health seminars, hobby talks, and trips around Texas, and for the month of March, the Active Adult Programs invites members to enjoy any of the several exciting and memorable trips and events planned.

To become a member, simply inquire at the Parks and Recreation Office for more information regarding membership registration, located at 406 Municipal Dr, Leander, Tx 78641.**REGISTER HERE** (link is external). March 4 from 9:15 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Vanishing River Cruise: Take a boat ride across the vanishing Colorado river is search of scenic river views on this cruise on Lake Buchanan. The cruise lasts roughly 2 hours in length and features a box lunch on the boat. Ticket cost: $29.95 per person with lunch included. For more click HERE.

March 10 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Taste Tester HMART Food Court: The premiere Asian grocery store features a world class food court with cuisines from Korean to Chinese and fusions in between. There are multiple restaurants to choose from while you relax from shopping through aisles of imported food from across the world. For more click HERE.

March 25 from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Laguna Gloria Modern Art Estate: Nestled on the shores of Lake Austin, this 14 acre estate offers a rare art-in-nature experience through a variety of installations by international artists. Walk through the sculpture park as you explore are and the creative processes. Lunch will be held at the cafe on site. For more click HERE.

March 27 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Trail Troupe Colorado Bend State Park: Home to one of the few waterfalls in Texas, Colorado Bend is a primitive state park that offers a unique, wilderness experience. See Gorman Falls, a 70 foot spring fed waterfall, after hiking through rocky terrain over 3 miles in length. This will be a challenge hike and is recommended only for those with experience.
