Here are the top stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. For Leander ISD, bus drivers are in a shortage. There are currently 150 bus routes with 21 open bus routes without a driver. There were 471 absences reported from Jan. to Feb. 2023. There are over 6,000 trips a year for extracurricular activities. To learn more details on school transportation topics, stop by Leander ISD.
  2. The Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation was awarded its fourth consecutive Economic Excellence Recognition at its 2023 Legislative Conference. This honor was awarded by The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC). "Recipients qualify for recognition based on training taken by their governing board/council as well as the economic development director and professional staff."   3. It's that time of year again! Yard trimmings can be bagged into specific brown paper, yard trimming bags that weigh under 40 lbs. Bags must be placed next to garbage and recycling bins, not inside of them. Wet trimming bags will not be picked up due to possibility of breakage. Bundled tree limb recycling need to be no more than 4 ft. long, and under 40 lbs. per bundle. Recycling will occur April 3 to May 12. Check for immediate up dates at the City of Cedar Park.
