Leander Kids Invited To Learn Gardening Basics
The City of Leander hosts Gardening and Environmental Sciences for Kids, a program geared at teaching kids about the environment.
LEANDER, TX — The City of Leander invites kids ages 7 and over to an exciting opportunity to engage in great activities centered on gardening basics and learn about environmental sciences beginning Thursday, Feb. 20 at 1:30 p.m. The event offers the chance to grow your own plants at the library and gain valuable insight about the environment.
Studies have demonstrated the range of benefits gardening has on children, including positive social and interpersonal skills, with kids who are taught to garden developing positive bonding experiences with parents and other adults. It's also been found that children who learn to garden at an early age become environmental stewards and are more likely to develop a lifelong interest and responsibility to care about matters involving the environment.
Gardening and Environmental Sciences for Kids is a FREE event and requires no registration. The event will take place every other Thursday from Feb. 20 through April 30. For more details click HERE.
