Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. According to Leander police, on Saturday, Jul. 16, a blue Dodge Ram hit a man riding a bike and did not stop to render aid. The Leander PD is searching for the blue Dodge Ram and the two men who were inside the vehicle. Leander PD posted pictures of the vehicle and the men on social media. If anyone has information, contact Officer Lalonde at 512.528.2800 x 1032 or slalonde@leandertx.gov. (FOX 7 Austin)
  2. Williamson County is purchasing the right of way to expand and extend RM 2243, or Leander's Hero Way. Leander's part of the 8-mile project will expand R 2243 and build a new connector between Ronald Reagan Boulevard and RM 2243. Leander's portion will cost $13.9 million. (Community Impact)
  3. Construction on a new rail station, the McKalla Station, began Jul. 18. It is part of the MetroRail Red Line, which runs from Leander to the downtown convention center. The McKalla Station will be on the east side of the stadium on Delta Drive and is scheduled to open in late 2023. (KXAN)
