  1. With losses of life from recent school shootings in Arlington and Nashville, Leander ISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing shared a message: The school district takes security and safety of students and staff very seriously. "Campuses have done an excellent job this year in being diligent in keeping doors locked and closed, and the audits from the Texas School Safety Center, along with weekly internal door audits, reflect that." Quick communication of any threats is also a measure taken for overall school safety. Stop by Leander ISD for the full message.
  2. Cedar Park's Texas Stars signed Canisius Forward Keaton Mastrodonato to an "amateur tryout agreement." Mastrodonato's impressive stats include: "Completed a four-year career at Canisius College last Thursday in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament," posted 36 points in 42 games as a senior, was a Hobey Baker award candidate, and was coined the AHA Student-Athlete of the Year from 2020 - 2022.
