As investigators try to reconstruct the accident, the northbound lanes of Toll Road 183A will not be affected, but the southbound lanes will be closed.
Hwy 183 will be closed and no one allowed to go northbound through the intersection of Hwy 183 and Toll Road 183A. Motorists can detour from Hwy 183 onto San Gabriel Parkway and head out to Toll Road 183A in order to continue their travels northbound. The toll road at San Gabriel Parkway does not have a toll for northbound travel, Leander Police said in a press release.
Motorists traveling southbound on Hwy 183 approaching the intersection of Toll Road 183A will be detoured onto Hwy 183. If you wish, you can detour back to the Toll Road 183A by turning on San Gabriel Parkway and heading east.
“Please expect delays if coming through this area. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience this will cause. We expect to have the intersection closed for several hours and we will notify everyone via social media when it is re-opened,” Sgt. Ryan Doyle said in the press release.
“We ask that you share with friends and family to help everyone plan ahead as much as possible and avoid delays in their travels,” he said.
