Williamson County Issues Travel Warning

Office of Emergency Management has issued a travel warning for the west and northwest parts of the county due to icy road conditions.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County Office of Emergency Management has issued a travel warning for the west and northwest parts of the county due to icy road conditions, officials said Saturday.

Temperatures remain at or below freezing with additional icy precipitation expected throughout the day. Residents consequently are urged to stay home due to hazardous road conditions, particularly on elevated roadways and bridges. "If you must drive, please drive with extreme caution, slow down, and leave plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles," officials wrote in an advisory.

Added Michael Shoe, director of emergency management for Williamson County: “We are urging people to please stay home. Even where roads have been treated, due to rapidly changing conditions that does not mean they are ice-free. Help us keep you safe and our first responders safe by staying home.”
