5 Malnourished Horses Seized By Sheriff's Office Livestock Unit
Deputies gave the owner instructions for necessary care, but a follow-up investigation determined the horses never received veterinary care.

CONROE, TX — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Livestock Unit seized five malnourished horses from a Conroe residence Wednesday, according to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies first opened the case July 8 and provided the owner with instructions about the care the horses needed for their poor health and injuries, authorities said.
Police found that the owner failed to obtain the necessary care for the horses in a follow-up investigation Wednesday and seized the horses. Three were given to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals because they needed constant veterinary care for several days. The other two horses were taken to the Sheriff’s Office impound to receive a veterinary exam and proper nutrition pending a hearing on the seizure, according to authorities.
