61 Online Predators Arrested In Montgomery County In 2018

The men arrested set up meetings with undercover agents believing they were meeting an underage victim for sexual relations, officials said.

CONROE, TX — Undercover sting operations in Montgomery County that targeted online predators resulted in 61 arrests in 2018, officials announced on Thursday.

Montgomery County's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force coordinated the stings with the help of other law enforcement agencies to who posed as underage boys or girls, and were contacted in online chat rooms lure these men.

All the men arrested set up meetings with undercover agents believing they were meeting an underage victim for sexual relations, officials said, and were arrested when they arrived at the meeting.

“The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is committed to keeping our children safe and we will continue to aggressively pursue those that seek to victimize our children through the internet,” Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon said in a statement.
