Child Drowns At Margaritaville Lake Conroe Resort

MONTGOMERY, TX — A 6-year-old died after drowning in a pool at the Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe on Friday afternoon, Conroe police said.

The girl, who was on vacation with her family, was found unresponsive in the pool shortly after 3:30 p.m., and attempts to resuscitate her by family members and witnesses were unsuccessful. The girl was taken to Texas Children's Hospital in The Woodlands, where she was pronounced dead at 5 p.m., police said.

"Chief [Jeff] Christy sends his condolences to the family and other people involved in this tragic incident," a statement from the Conroe Police Department said.

A contractor was electrocuted and killed in another incident at the resort in July.
