Conroe EDC, Area Chambers Hosting 7th Annual Job Fair On Jan. 29

CONROE, TX– Job seekers and anyone thinking about a career career change may want to check out the jobs available at the 7th Annual Conroe Job Fair.

The job fair, presented by the Conroe Economic Development Council and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 1-5 p.m. at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe.

Job seekers will be able to browse careers in education, manufacturing, sales, finance, fitness, law enforcement, and real estate, among others.

The Conroe EDC expects about 50 companies and organizations from around the region to participate, looking to fill a variety of roles.

“Conroe continues to grow and the job market remains strong,” said Jennifer Matthews, Associate Director of the Conroe EDC. “With a variety of industries expected to be represented, there will be job prospects available to a wide-range of job seekers. We hope to show that Conroe is a great place to work, where opportunities abound.”

Workforce Solutions will host workshops leading up to the job fair to prepare job seekers. Workshops in resume writing, business etiquette, and interview skills will be offered on Jan. 15 and 22 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and Jan. 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. - noon at the Chamber offices. Mock interviews will also be offered to those attending the workshops.

Job seekers can also apply onsite to win a scholarship from Lone Star College. The scholarships can be used to learn additional skills or to enhance current skills needed to find a job.

The Conroe Job Fair is a collaborative effort of the Conroe EDC, Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, Lone Star College and Workforce Solutions.
