Conroe To Host 100th Exotic Reptile Show Celebration This Weekend

HERPS-sponsored event bills itself as the largest reptile expo in the Houston area and largest venomous show in Texas.

CONROE, TX —The Lone Star Convention & Expo Center in Conroe will host the HERPS Exotic Reptile and Pet Show this weekend. It will be the 100th show put on by HERPS, which has been promoting reptile shows for over a decade, according to its website.

According to HERPS, the show, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, is the largest reptile show in the Houston area, and the largest venomous show in Texas. The show offers attendees a chance to browse or buy. There will be large selection of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates in addition to materials like feeders and supplies.

HERPS shows are for all ages and feature a Kid's Corner, Educational Area, hands-on experiences, venomous snake demonstrations and sales. HERPS said it allows attendees to "get up close and personal with some of the most exotic animals on the planet." The organization also said it encourages "responsible reptile ownership," and brings together those who share a passion for "these magnificent creatures."

Since the Conroe event is the organization's 100th show, it will feature prizes to lucky customers.

The show has come to Conroe previously, and other HERPS shows are scheduled for the convention center in September and January of 2022.

The show will last from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the convention center, 9055 Airport Road. According to HERPS, tickets are no longer being sold online, but can be purchased at the door with cash or credit card. Tickets never sell out.

A one-day pass is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 4 years old are free. A two-day pass is $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 5 to 12.
