Conroe Man Charged With Aggravated Assault After SWAT Standoff
Ryan Riddell, 32, surrendered after a SWAT standoff, and was charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer, police said.

CONROE — A Conroe man was arrested Sunday after he pointed his rifle as police officers during a standoff with police. Ryan Riddell, 32, is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant, a first degree felony, police said.
Police were called to the 9900 block of Western Ridge Way in Conroe, Texas in reference to a large disturbance in progress.
According to police, Riddell and several of his neighbors were involved in an argument, and during this disturbance.

While sheriff’s deputies were investigating the incident, Riddell pointed a rifle at deputies from inside his home. Deputies ordered Riddell to drop his weapon and come out, but he refused.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, Crisis Negotiators, and other Law Enforcement agencies were called to the scene, and neighbors were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Police eventually persuaded Riddell to surrender at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Riddell is in the Montgomery County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
