COVID-19 Positive Test Rate Drops To 5 Percent In Montgomery Co.
The Montgomery County Public Health District announced the death of three more Montgomery County residents with coronavirus.
CONROE, TX — The Montgomery County Public Health District announced Wednesday that the COVID-19 testing positive rate in Montgomery County has dropped to 5 percent.
MCPHD updates the figure every Wednesday with data from University of Texas School of Public Health. Last week, the testing positive rate was 6 percent.
MCPHD also confirmed the deaths of three more county residents with COVID-19 on Wednesday, raising Montgomery County's death total to 311 since the beginning of the pandemic. The deaths were two New Caney men, both in their 80s, and a Porter woman in her 60s, and all three had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

Public health officials added 68 new cases Wednesday, bringing the total to 54,267, and active cases increased by 40 to 1,179. There are 47 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Montgomery County, 10 less than in Tuesday's update, with 13 in intensive care.
