DA Accuses Ware Of Being Suspect In Girlfriend's Disappearance

The Harris County Sheriff's Office hasn't named a suspect, but former NFL player Kevin Ware is one of several investigators have questioned.

CONROE, TX — The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office accused former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr. of being a suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, court documents show.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office, which is conducting the investigation into Taylor Pomaski's disappearance, said in a statement to Patch that Ware is one of several people investigators have questioned in the case but that no suspect has been named.

Pomaski has been missing since the end of April.

Ware was charged on April 22 in Montgomery County with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver/manufacture a controlled substance and posted $23,000 bond, court documents show. Ware was arrested on June 11 in Spring after failing to report for bond supervision in April and May.

In a motion to deny or increase bail filed June 14, Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Bratcher stated Ware was a "suspect in a murder investigation relating to the disappearance of his girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski."

Ware's bond hearing is set for Tuesday.
