Ex-Conroe Priest Indicted On Newly Filed Charge
Manuel La Rosa-Lopez was indicted on a new charge of assaulting a child last week, a month after he was indicted on 2 counts of sexual abuse

CONROE, TX — A former Conroe priest who was indicted in May on two counts of indecency with a child was indicted on June 27 on newly filed charges, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
Manuel La Rosa-Lopez was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury for assaulting a child for an incident that allegedly occurred in February 1999.
La Rosa-Lopez, who was assigned to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at the time of the allegations, turned himself at the Montgomery County Jail on Sept. 11, 2018. He was later released on a $100,000 bond.

Charges were filed against La Rosa-Lopez in August when man and a woman both came forward and claimed they'd been sexually abused by the priest when they were in the early teens.
A third victim came forward after La Rosa-Lopez was freed on bond and accused the ex-priest of sexually abusing him while he was an alter boy.
