Fireworks Banned In Some Montgomery County Cities
While revelers may be OK to set off fireworks in areas of Harris and Montgomery County, some cities are warning people they are not allowed.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Those who choose to celebrate the arrival of 2019 on New Year's Eve may want to check before they buy those fireworks and start setting them off. Cities in both Harris and Montgomery counties are reminding revelers that fireworks are not allowed in the city limits of both counties.
However, areas in unincorporated Harris and Montgomery County could be fair game for those home made celebrations.
On Friday, officials with the City of Tomball, the City of Houston, and the City of Conroe, all issued warnings on social media, or on their web pages reminding residents that fireworks are banned in those cities.

Anyone caught with fireworks, exploded or not, can get popped with a steep fine. In Conroe and in Tomball, a violation can result in a fine of up to $2,000.
The same goes for Houston, with fines between $500 - $2,000 for each individual firework. Warnings are no longer used because of the seriousness of the firework laws.

Houston area residents should also remember that even though it is legal to buy, possess, and use consumer fireworks (1.4G) in the unincorporated areas of Harris County, there are some places you cannot use fireworks even in the unincorporated county.
Such as near churches, hospitals and asylums, a licensed child care center, or a public or private primary or secondary school or institution of higher education unless the person receives authorization in writing from that organization.
Of course, it's always a good idea to check with law enforcement in your area before you light the fuse.
