Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. A criminal investigation led to the identification of four juveniles who allegedly started several fires inside the home.
As officers were arresting the juveniles, one fled. Two MCFMO investigators were in the Magnolia area attempting to locate the last of the four when they found him riding a scooter along Nichols Sawmill near Magnolia Junior High School.
The juvenile fled through the parking lot of the school, abandoning the scooter, then fled on foot through a construction area. A MCFMO investigator gave chase and was able to run him down and take him into custody inside the construction site.
The juvenile was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, where he will be facing charges for arson and evading arrest. The other juveniles involved will be facing arson charges as well.
