Hoax Bomb Found In Conroe Subdivision Wednesday Night

A Montgomery County Fire Marshal bomb squad was called to the River Plantation subdivision. They determined a bomb-like object was fake.

CONROE, TX — A hoax bomb was found in the River Plantation subdivision in Conroe on Wednesday night.

What appeared to be an improvised explosive device was discovered in the subdivision at around 5 p.m. Wednesday. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Caney Creek Fire Department secured the area and requested assistance from the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's bomb squad, according to authorities.

Officials from the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office secured the area and determined it was safe. It was designed to look real but was a hoax bomb, authorities said.
