Officials said super aggravated assault charges are applied when the victim is under the age of 6-years old, or or if someone previously convicted of a violent sexual assault against a juvenile younger than 14-years old commits the same offense.
Meanwhile, Pasadena ISD, where Solorio was employed, was notified of his arrest, and released this statement:
"On the afternoon of February 6, 2019, Pasadena ISD was informed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office that Mr. Jose Lopez Solorio, a Pasadena ISD Building and Grounds helper, was arrested for continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and aggravated sexual assault of a child. Upon learning this information, Pasadena ISD took immediate action to terminate this individual's employment. Mr. Lopez Solorio's position did not require direct contact with students."
Based on these allegations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement may review Solorio's immigration status, officials said.
Police are continuing their investigation and are asking with any information to call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 936-760-5800.
Solorio is being held in the Montgomery County Jail with bonds totaling $400,000.
