Magnolia Pastor Sentenced To 75 Years For Sexual Assaulting Child

Ronald Mitchell was the pastor at the Body of Christ Church when he sexually abused a young girl in 2016.

CONROE, TX — An ex-pastor who was accused of sexually abusing a young girl who was a member of his church was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Ronald Mitchell, who was pastor at the Body of Christ Church in Magnolia, was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault of a child on Tuesday.

Mitchell, 59, was arrested at his home in Magnolia in November 2016 after his 16-year-old victim was able to get a message her mother, who called police.

Police built a case and executed a searched warrant on his home where they found a cache of weapons and evidence of sexual abuse.

According to court documents, the sexual assaults happened over a four-month period in 2015 and 2016, while the girl was staying at his home in the 40200 block of Garwood Court near Magnolia.

Mitchell allegedly persuaded the girls mother to allow the child to stay with him and his wife, because she "needed to be watched."

After the girl came to his home, Mitchell had sex with her the weekend before Thanksgiving 2015, and again in December 2015.

According to court documents, Mitchell forced the girl to keep quiet by telling her God would kill her if she told anyone.
