Man Dead After Conroe Domestic Violence Incident

A woman shot and killed her husband, who she claims was assaulting her, on Sunday night in Conroe.

CONROE, TX — A man was shot and killed by his estranged wife during a domestic violence incident on Sunday night in Conroe.

The shooting happened at the woman's residence on Heritage Ranch Road in Conroe.

The woman, who called 911 following the shooting, told dispatch that she shot her husband because he was assaulting her, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman told authorities she and her husband were separated, but the man still had a key to her residence. She said her husband came into her home and during an argument, threatened and assaulted her. During the altercation, the woman grabbed a handgun and fired multiple shots, killing the man, according to authorities.

Neither of their names are being released until the man's family has been notified.
