Man Shot By Deputies Responding To Domestic Disturbance In Conroe
The man fled before turning and brandishing his weapon at police, who shot him. He is expected to survive, authorities said.
CONROE, TX — A man was shot by Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic disturbance in Conroe early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The man was the husband involved in the domestic disturbance, which occurred on the 10700 block of Stidham Road in Conroe and started as a verbal altercation. Deputies responded to the incident shortly after midnight, and the man was brandishing a weapon and threatening to shoot animals in the house, according to authorities.
The man fled from the deputies, who chased him. The man then turned and brandished his gun at police, according to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Scott Spencer.

The deputies shot the man multiple times, Spencer said. The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive, according to Spencer.

The wife suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. She was interviewed by investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and the Texas Rangers, authorities said.
The man faces a charge of aggravated assault on a public servant, and more charges could be brought against him in relation to the domestic violence incident, according to Spencer.
