Montgomery County Judge and Commissioners Indicted
The Montgomery County Judge and two members of the commissioners' court were indicted on violations of the open meetings act.

Conroe, TX -- Thee members of the Montgomery County Commissioners' Court were indicted on Friday for allegedly violating the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Montgomery County Judge Craig Doyal, who functions as the county's chief executive officer, as well as Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley and Precinct 4 Commissioner Jim Clark, face misdemeanor charges for allegedly holding private discussions about a $280 million road construction bond passed in November 2015.

The conversations, which were carried out over email, also allegedly involved a Montgomery County political consultant who is married to the county treasurer and a board member of a local political action committee.
The discussions took place between August 12 and August 20 in the run up to a special commissioners court meeting, held to vote on placing the bond referendum on the November ballot.

All of those indicted can be face punishment ranging from probation to fines of between $100 and $500 or incarceration in the county jail of for one to six months.
