Texas Renaissance Festival Returns For 2021 In Montgomery County

TODD MISSION, TX — Montgomery County will feature the sights and sounds of sword clashes and magical performances for most of the next two months as the Texas Renaissance Festival makes its return for 2021 on Saturday.

Texas Ren Fest runs from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 9-Nov. 28 and also will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving.

It's the nation's largest Renaissance festival, welcoming 500,000 guests annually to its 55 acres of festival space at 21778 FM 1774 in Todd Mission, Texas, just north of Magnolia. The festival is entering its 47th season and has been a Texas staple since 1974.

Presale tickets to Texas Ren Fest are $27 for Saturdays and $22 for Sundays. Admission for children age 12 and under is half-off Saturdays and free Sundays. Purchasing tickets on site adds $5 per ticket. Preferred parking is available for $20 and valet for $40.

Things To Do

Texas Ren Fest features over 400 shops selling a wide variety of craft items as well as 95 food and drink vendors representing cuisines across the globe.

There are 49 performing acts spread across 21 stages. The acts range from music and comedy to circus arts and combat demonstrations, making for great entertainment for people of all ages.

The festival also features a vast array of rides, games and Renaissance activities, most of which cost between $3 and $5.

Themed Weekends

Each weekend has its own theme, including themes for Halloween and Christmas, and a corresponding daily costume contest. Here is the full lineup for the length of the festival.

New To Ren Fest

Texas Ren Fest welcomes a new act and a handful of new food and drink vendors and shops in 2021.

The Theatre of Fools is a new performing act at Ren Fest, featuring Lloyd Brant and Rosie Cole. The Ren Fest website describes the act as a fusion of theater, magic, and the delight of the circus arts.

Texas Ren Fest Escape Rooms also makes its debut, giving festival-goers an opportunity to test their problem-solving skills while getting out of the heat.
