Veterans Day 2021: Events Set For Conroe-Montgomery County

Here are several tributes and celebrations for Veterans Day in Conroe and Montgomery County.

CONROE-MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — There are plenty of ways for Montgomery County residents to join with Americans all over the country in celebrating the sacrifices all current and former members of the U.S. military have made this Veterans Day.

There are several events throughout Conroe and Montgomery County on Thursday in recognition of veterans.

Veterans Day Musical Celebration

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission, along with the Montgomery County Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the U.S. Marine Corps League and Eastex Detachment #779 is hosting a Veterans Day celebration at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park in Conroe. At 11 a.m. Thursday, the program will begin with a pause to recognize all veterans and their families. A patriotic musical program will feature accomplished and noted musical vocalist Meredith Fisk and Kenzie Soape, along with the award-winning Caney Creek High School Boys Choir.

Veterans Day Breakfast

VFW Post 4709 in Conroe invites the public to a free Veterans Day breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, a Republican from Texas' 8th Congressional District, will be in attendance.

Conroe ISD's Salute To Our Veterans

Conroe ISD will host a "Salute To Our Veterans" program at 10 a.m. Thursday in Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah. The event will be livestreamed on Conroe ISD's Facebook page.

Free Meal For Veterans At Honor Cafe

Honor Cafe, the military-themed restaurant opened in downtown Conroe in 2020 by former U.S. Marine Chris Sadler, is offering a free breakfast or lunch to all veterans from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday.

The Woodlands Veterans Day Tribute

The Woodlands Township invites the public to Town Green Park for its Veterans Day Tribute featuring a presentation of colors, musical performances, Our Community Salutes ceremony and keynote speaker Lt. Col. Sam Kim of the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion in Houston. A special military care package drop-off booth will be set up during the Veterans Day Tribute to accept donations of recommended items for servicemembers.
