• Conroe reserves land in failed technology park for public space similar to Discovery Green (yourconroenews.com) — Conroe city leaders have reserved about 40 acres in the underused Dieson Technology Park to potentially create a Discovery Green–style public space with trails, a lake, and an amphitheater. The joint venture with the Conroe Industrial Development Corp. and Visit Conroe would reuse existing parkland, though some officials remain wary and there’s no construction timeline yet.

• Missing man last seen in Conroe late December, officials say (fox26houston.com) — Authorities are asking Conroe residents to help locate 28-year-old Paul Falk, last seen on Old Houston Road near FM 1314 on December 22 wearing light-colored jeans and no shirt. Anyone who may have seen him or has information is urged to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-538-5900 and reference case #26A001983.
• Texas A&M student alleges mold exposure in dorm caused health crisis (click2houston.com) — A Texas A&M student from Conroe says her freshman year was derailed by serious health problems she believes were caused by mold in her campus dorm, though her lawsuit against the university was dismissed on immunity grounds. Her family hired a private inspector who deemed the room unfit, and they now hope their experience raises awareness about mold risks in college housing nationwide.
