Homeowner Shoots Woodlands Firefighter During Fight: Police
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting death of a Woodlands Firefighter on Sunday morning.

MONTGOMERY, TX — A firefighter from The Woodlands was shot to death after a witness said the man came into his home. The shooting was reported about 12:35 a.m. Sunday when the homeowner called the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and said he'd shot a man on his property.
When deputies arrived at the home in the 28000 block of Denn Court, they found Nicholas Daniel dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
The homeowner told investigators that he and Daniel had been at a party earlier that evening, and that Daniel came to his home to confront him over text messages.

Before Daniel arrived, the homeowner said he'd received a warning that Daniel was on his way to the man's home and he should lock his doors, police said.
According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, man was inside his home when he heard Daniel drive up and came outside through his back door. The homeowner said he saw Daniel open his front door.

When Daniel saw the homeowner, the two began fighting, according to police. During the fight, the homeowner pulled his gun and Daniel was shot several times. He died at the scene.
Charges have not been filed and no arrests have been made. However, police are still investigating and plan to refer the case to a Montgomery County grand jury for possible indictment.
