Here are the top three stories in Corpus Christi today:

  1. Police are investigating after a man was robbed and shot at a Corpus Christi convenience store on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. at a store near Port Avenue and Mary Street. The 23-year-old victim is expected to recover. (KIIITV.com)
  2. The Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation has received a grant to expand the HIV services it provides. The organization will receive two grants of $700,000 from the Ryan White Part C Early Intervention Services Funding over a two-year period. Corpus Christi currently ranks as the city with the 19th-highest number of diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases. (KIIITV.com)
  3. A new grocery store is coming to downtown Corpus Christi later this year. The Community Grocery at 317 Peoples Street is expected to open between October and November if the project stays on track. It will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and sell a variety of locally sourced and locally made food from Coastal Bend vendors. (Caller Times)

  • Corpus Christi's interactive Bayfront Park Fountain is temporarily closed for the installation of new equipment. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will release an update when the fountain reopens for public use. (Corpus Christi)
  • Swing by Water's Edge Park this Saturday, Jul. 1, for the Coastal Comida Fest. This one-day food truck and music festival will feature lawn games, inflatables, and more from 12:00-10:00 p.m. (KRIS 6 News Corpus Christi)
