  1. Dallas County is considering expanding broadband access through high-speed internet investment. Consultants proposed the recommendation during the Dallas County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday. Commissioner John Wiley Price reported that the project was "long overdue" and needed. The project would be using about $35 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds. 2. A new report from Gayot has listed a Dallas steakhouse as one of the best in the country. Knife was ranked in the eighth spot by the report. The Mockingbird Lane location has been recognized for its specialty cut steaks, upscale atmosphere, and diverse menu. (CW33 Dallas)
  3. The Dallas City Council is considering an end to open microphone sessions at council meetings. The proposal is in direct response to disruptive speakers that have become common during the open microphone sessions. "Neither Texas law nor the First Amendment requires an open microphone session during a public meeting, but if the city opens its forum up for anything-goes discussion, it can't subsequently restrict speech based on the subject matter," Cal Estee, a Dallas senior assistant attorney said.
