1. Dallas Downtown Street Feedings Continue Unchecked: Zero Citations Issued In 2025 (dallasexpress.com) — Downtown Dallas continues to see weekly street feedings for homeless residents, but the city has issued no citations in 2025 despite an ordinance regulating the practice. Downtown leaders and service providers worry uncoordinated giveaways create trash, safety issues, and pull people from structured services, while volunteers stress their efforts to feed and support hundreds of people each week.

Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program Hosts Free Legal Clinics in January (northdallasgazette.com) — Free legal clinics from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program are coming up in January, offering both virtual and in-person help for Dallas County residents. 3. Dallas neighbors use permits to block traffic near viral holiday mansion display (fox4news.com) — Neighbors in Dallas’ Preston Hollow have used a special event permit to close streets and limit cars and pedestrians around a wildly popular DeLoache Avenue holiday light display through Christmas, citing gridlock and safety worries. Off-duty officers, no-parking signs, and weekend vehicle closures are in place while city leaders consider longer-term rules in 2026 to balance big neighborhood displays with residents’ quality of life.

Young father, boxer shot and killed in southeast Dallas, family says he was unarmed (nbcdfw.com) — Dallas police are investigating the fatal shooting of 25-year-old father and boxer Matthew Moore, who was found with a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon in southeast Dallas and later died at a hospital. His family and coach remembered him at a Rockwall boxing gym, saying he inspired others and was unarmed, while officers continue searching for answers with no arrest yet announced.

5. Dallas restaurant owners on edge after string of break-ins caught on camera (nbcdfw.com) — Several small restaurants in northeast Dallas were burglarized within days of each other, with security cameras capturing a hooded suspect smashing glass doors and stealing cash registers and tips.
