Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. Smoke from Canadian wildfires has reentered Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex due to winds from areas of low pressure to the east and west. Although this is expected to bring cooler temperatures to North Texas, it's not anticipated to impact air quality. Back in June, Canadian wildfire smoke caused visual effects and disruptions on the East Coast but didn't affect air quality in Texas. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Clifford Osmer, a 41-year-old Mabank resident, has been indicted by a Dallas County grand jury with two charges of aggravated assault of a public servant following a shootout with Dallas police. The incident occurred at the Red Crown Motel during a property theft investigation, where Osmer engaged in gunfire, injuring himself, while no police officers were harmed. Video footage from body cameras captured the shootout and its aftermath, leading to Osmer's recovery and subsequent incarceration in the Dallas County jail with a $1 million bond. (KRLD)
  3. As part of their "Five Albums. One Night" world tour, the Jonas Brothers offered exclusive merchandise at their concert in nearby Arlington's Globe Life Field on Wednesday. Alongside regular tour items, fans were able to obtain a unique Arlington-themed shirt commemorating the Globe Life Field show. The band partnered with clothing brand Centre for an exclusive merchandise pop-up event in Dallas. (Subscription: Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
