Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot has rescinded his controversial theft policy. Creuzot pledged to reconsider the policy if he was reelected to the positions. The change was made over the weekend and went into effect immediately. The previous policy was letting criminals go free if they stole certain items under $750. (WFAA.com)
  2. A deadly fire occurred at a vacant commercial building in south Dallas on Saturday. The fire occurred at about 3:57 p.m. off Al Lipscomb Way. A homeless man died from serious injuries sustained during the fire. The fire was extinguished by 5:00 p.m. (CBS Dallas)
  3. Federal officials report that a Fort Worth man is facing federal charges for manufacturing and selling 3D printed machine gun conversion devices. The officials seized more than 650 devices from Xavier Desean Watson. He now faces up to a decade in federal prison if he is convicted. (WBAP)
