Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. A smaller amount of Dallas mail-in ballots are being rejected compared to primary numbers. Dallas County election officials are citing voter outreach efforts as the primary reason for the lower rejection rate. As of Thursday, only 1.4 percent of mail-in ballots were rejected. Election Day is this upcoming Tuesday, Nov. 8. (KERA News)
  2. According to the City of Dallas, 2022 motor vehicle thefts are outpacing last year's numbers. According to the city's data, there have been 11,203 motor vehicle thefts so far in 2022 - a 14 percent increase. At this time last year, there were only 9,813 motor vehicle thefts. (WFAA.com)
  3. The Dallas Police Department reports that a woman has died due to self-inflicted gunshot wounds after shooting a man at a Dallas motel.
