Dallas Toddler Hit By SUV While Running At Ice Cream Truck

PLEASANT GROVE, TX — A 2-year-old boy died after being hit by an SUV when he ran into the street toward an ice cream truck Wednesday night, Dallas police confirmed to Patch.

The ice cream truck was parked along a curb near an apartment complex on Delafield Lane in Pleasant Grove just after 8:15 p.m. when a 53-year-old woman in a Chevy Tahoe tried to drive around it as the toddler ran into the street, according to the report.

The child was taken to Children's Medical Center but died from his injuries. The woman, who stopped to help, likely will not face charges, authorities said.
