  1. The Dallas City Council has voiced its support for potentially decriminalizing fentanyl testing strips. The strips are used to test items to ensure that they aren't laced with the dangerous drug. Despite the public health community's insistence that the strips are a method of harm reduction, they are considered by Texas to be "drug paraphernalia." (D Magazine)
  2. A Dallas pizzeria has been recognized as one of the country's best cheap eateries. GAYOT's "Top 10 Cheat Eats in the U.S." includes Dallas' Greenville Avenue Pizza Company. Their homemade pizza and chicken wings were recognized by the publication. Pizza Today magazine also reported that Greenville Avenue Pizza Company was an industry leader in the U.S. (CW33 Dallas)
  3. The City of Dallas is recognizing Lead Poisoning Prevention Week this week. The week is meant to increase awareness of childhood lead poisoning, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson states, "I firmly believe in the importance of understanding the risks of lead poisoning and exposure." (EPA.gov)
