A Denton Fire Engine — Pickup Truck Crash Closes 35E

Part of the major thoroughfare in and out of Denton was shut down this morning due to a collision between a fire truck and a pickup.

DALLAS, TX — A Denton crash that involved a pickup truck and a fire engine has closed a stretch of Interstate Hwy 35E.

The crash, which occurred slightly after 5 am, forced closure in the vicinity of Texas 288 and Mayhill Road. The roadway remained closed as first responders worked to clear the scene of debris and victims.

According to the Denton Fire Department, the pickup driver is in serious condition, and had to be extracted from the vehicle, which was heavily damaged.

No other injuries were reported.
