Farmers Branch Reader Shares Winning Brisket Taco Recipe For Game Day

This delicious dish is sure to be the MVP of your watch party!

Farmers Branch, Texas — If you plan it right, the snacks at your football watch party on Feb. 11 will be as much discussed as the key plays. When we asked Farmers Branch readers to submit their MVP-worthy recipes, Paige Kuehmeier submitted this recipe:

Brisket Tacos

3 Jalapeños (to reduce the spice, remove the seeds and pith)
3 Roma Tomatoes
2 Cloves Garlic
½ White Onion
¼ cup Cilantro
2 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Cumin
1 teaspoon Chili Powder
Juice of ½ Lemon
1 Pound Crossbuck BBQ Chopped Central Texas Style Brisket, or Leftover brisket
Your Favorite Tortillas

Dice the jalapenos, tomatoes and onion into medium size chunks. Place those chunks in a blender with the cilantro, salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder and lemon. Puree until desired thickness--we prefer a few chucks!

Pour the mixture into a sauce pot and place on a burner at high heat. Bring to a boil and then turn the heat down to a simmer. Allow to cook for 7-10 minutes. Allow salsa to cool.

Warm up Crossbuck's chopped brisket, or leftovers if available.

Heat your favorite corn or flour tortillas.

Place an 1/8 pound of brisket in each tortilla, and top with cooled salsa, and top with garnish. We recommend thinly sliced red onions and cilantro.
