Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Dallas Police Department located a gun in a local elementary school on Thursday. The gun was located at Thomas Tolbert Elementary School. The initial investigation indicates that the gun was left behind following a recent burglary at the school. Parents of students were notified of the incident. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- A Dallas Police Department officer has been arrested. The arrest-warrant affidavit alleges that Officer Anthony Heims, 39 years old, shot at a fellow officer in an Uber while off-duty. He is facing an aggravated assault charge. The incident was reported by the Uber driver. (Subscription: The Dallas Morning News)
- The Frank Crowley Courts Building in Dallas was evacuated on Friday morning. The evacuation was in response to a bomb threat that was reported at 8:13 a.m. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office asked the community to avoid the area while the bomb threat could be investigated.
