🌱 High Speed Chase + VA Employees Pleaded Guilty To Embezzling

Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. A Kaufman County high-speed chase crossed into Dallas County on Monday afternoon. The chase originated with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office during a traffic stop. The chase's speeds exceeded 115 miles per hour. The driver was eventually arrested by a K-9 officer. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Two Dallas employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs have pleaded guilty to embezzling $2.9 million. Randius McGlown and Charles Gates used their government positions to steal taxpayer funds, according to Acting Special Agent in Charge Patrick Roche. McGlown served as an inventory manager and acquisition utilization specialist. They will now face up to 10 years in federal prison. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  3. The Dallas Independent School District has purchased new electric school buses. The new vehicles will dramatically lower the district's greenhouse gas emissions. The district is among about a dozen districts in Texas participating in the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus program.
