Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The City of Dallas will be making improvements on Ridgecrest Road in 2023. The project will include reinforced concrete pavement, drainage, and sidewalk improvements. The total cost of the project will be about $5.5 million. A Dallas bond program from 2017 is funding it. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Dallas ISD has been awarded $7.6 million to purchase electric school buses. The district is one of 13 districts in Texas to receive the funds through the bipartisan infrastructure law. The funding will also be used to create the infrastructure needed to operate the buses. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Civil District Court Judge Eric Moye has ruled that the City of Dallas was within its rights to revoke a certificate of occupancy for a legal poker room. The certificate was revoked for the Texas Card House when the Board of Adjustment decided to reverse its decision. The establishment operates about three dozen locations throughout the state but the Dallas location is the only one with legal action against it. The city has argued that Texas Card House is not a "private place." (D Magazine)
