The owner of Payroll Vault in Argyle is recognizing and celebrating fellow small businesses and a local charity in our community with some surprise deliveries!

Current events are creating a challenging climate for small businesses. They deserve to be recognized for their resilience as they weather rising prices, labor shortages, supply chain issues, and every other challenge that has been thrown at them over the past two years. Small businesses continue to be the backbone of the local community and supporting area entrepreneurs is a way to honor small business heroes.

To celebrate Small Business Month in May, Payroll Vault franchise owner Toby Haynes used his own small business to highlight other small businesses in the community with a Small Business Giveback.

“We are so proud to be part of the DFW metro small business community and just want to show some love to other small business owners in the area,” said Haynes.

As part of the celebration, Hayes surprised a local business owner in Southlake with gifts, balloons, and smiles.

Haynes delivered a gift basket overflowing with goodies to Katherine Lawrence, owner of Food Saved Me. Lawrence’s company specializes in disease prevention and empowering students to make changes at home that are healthy and easy. Food Saved Me’s nutritionists and cooking coaches are passionate about healthy eating and serving the community – definitely a company worth celebrating!

Like many others, Haynes is living the American dream by running his own small business — part of that dream is using his business for good! To show his support of the community and give back, Haynes donated 10% of his payroll revenue in May to the DFW Angels, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the children, youth, and families in the foster care system. DFW Angels combines intentional giving, relationship building and mentorship to ensure that every child who experiences foster care has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and every family who fosters has the support they need.

“Being a small business owner is perhaps one of the toughest jobs, but it’s also one of the most rewarding. Running a small business requires sacrifice, determination, and resilience, including long hours and administrative burdens,” Haynes said. “Small businesses literally make the world go round and we depend on each other. The jobs and dollars spent at one small business benefit other small businesses, creating a never-ending cycle of positive impact for the community.”

Small Business Builds Community
Entrepreneurs bring new ideas to life, serve their communities, and grow the economy. They play a vital role in the local communities they serve. Take a look at their impact by the numbers:

  • There are 32.5 million small businesses in the United States.
  • Small businesses account for 66% of employment growth over the last 25 years, adding 12.9 million jobs.
  • Small businesses account for 44% of all U.S. economic activity.

Haynes fulfilled his lifelong dream of entrepreneurship in 2021 when he opened his local Payroll Vault franchise. Payroll Vault is a payroll services and workforce management solution for local businesses. After spending 20 years supporting payroll, human resources, and benefits at various companies, investing in a franchise enabled Haynes to benefit from a proven business model with brand recognition. Taking this opportunity to express his gratitude for other entrepreneurs is a fitting way to celebrate fellow small business owners.
