TxDOT launces awareness campaign “Text. Talk. Crash.”
The "Text. Talk. Crash." campaign is an extension of the larger #EndtheStreakTX effort, another social media campaign for road safety.

Dallas, Texas – In a move to combat the growing menace of distracted driving, the Texas Department of Transportation has initiated a robust plan dedicated to the protection of road users across the state, Dallas Metro News reported. This extensive strategy follows troubling statistics that indicate a significant 10% increase in distracted driving incidents within Texas.
A few days ago, the “Text. Talk. Crash.” campaign was rolled out as an integrated, multi-dimensional strategy aimed at raising awareness and educating motorists about the inherent risks of inattentive driving. This focused drive aspires to cultivate a heightened sense of responsibility among Texas' drivers, encouraging them to maintain vigilance on the roads across the state.
The recently launched campaign is an extension of the larger #EndtheStreakTX effort, a cause predominantly disseminated via social media platforms and grassroots discussions within the community. #EndtheStreakTX has been a strong proponent of safer driving practices, urging drivers to adopt a more mindful attitude behind the wheel. The ultimate aim is to halt the ongoing streak of daily fatalities that has, regrettably, become an all-too-familiar scene.

“Distracted driving is a choice, and it has devastating consequences for communities.” says TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams. Texting, adjusting the radio or navigation systems, or scrolling on social media sites can wait until you’re safely parked. We’re urging Texans to make the right choice and put the phone away.”
