Motorcycle crash leaves one critically injured, section of Mesa Street remain closed (kfoxtv.com) — A serious overnight motorcycle crash in west El Paso left one rider with life-threatening injuries and has both directions of North Mesa Street near the 4400 block still closed as investigators work the scene. El Paso fire crews responded around 2:20 a.m., and police have released few details so far. Drivers in the area should expect delays until the investigation wraps up.
   

2. Judges in El Paso Electric rate case recommend smaller rate increase, less profit for utility (kvia.com) — El Paso Electric customers could see a smaller rate hike than first proposed after judges recommended limiting the utility’s profit margin and keeping basic customer charges flat. The proposal also preserves the current minimum bill for rooftop solar users while calling for more study, and a final decision from Texas regulators is expected early next year.

CRRUA finishes year with all treatment plants compliant with New Mexico regulations (ktsm.com) — Reporting from El Paso, officials say the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority has kept all four of its New Mexico treatment facilities in full compliance with arsenic standards for an entire year. Residents of Sunland Park and Santa Teresa now have a full year of test data showing arsenic levels below federal limits, with detailed results posted online for public review.
