• Drainage improvements underway for flood-prone area in Harlingen (valleycentral.com) — Drainage crews are widening a major open drain near Frontage and Primera roads in Harlingen to reduce frequent flooding on the roadway and in nearby neighborhoods like Valencia. City Commissioner Daniel Lopez says the city and Cameron County Drainage District No. 5 are partnering on this and other corridor projects to better protect residents from stronger storms over the next decades.
