HOUSTON, TX — Organizers for the Billy Joel concert recently announced and set for Sept. 23, 2022, at Minute Maid Park, have delayed ticket sales for the event “until further notice” after eight people died Friday at the Astroworld Festival, concert officials said Monday.

Tickets for the concert were set to go on sale Friday and were delayed "out of respect for the Houston community," according to a statement from Ike Richman Communications via Live Nation, one of the organizers for Astroworld.

A crowd surge at the Astroworld Festival at NRG Park killed eight and injured hundreds during a performance by Houston rapper Travis Scott on Friday.
