Hanukkah terror attack: College Station man volunteering in Sydney among those hurt in deadly attack (khou.com) — A Houston rabbi is asking for prayers after his nephew from College Station was critically injured in a mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. As the community grieves, he says more than 40 Hanukkah events around the Houston area will still go on with increased security, urging residents to show up and stand against antisemitism.
   

2. 11 year sentence for Houston meth dealer high-speed drug toss (fox4news.com) — A 45-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing over five kilograms of crystal meth with intent to distribute. Prosecutors say he led officers on a 100-mph chase through the Houston area, tossing drugs from his car, and a federal judge cited the danger to the community in imposing the stiff sentence.
   

3. NFL Week 16 odds have the Las Vegas Raiders as huge underdogs vs The Texans (silverandblackpride.com) — Houston football fans will see the surging Texans heavily favored in Week 16, as oddsmakers make them 14.5-point favorites over the struggling Las Vegas Raiders. Riding a six-game win streak and boasting a top defense, Houston is also pushing to lock up a third straight AFC South title.
   

4. Harris County Democratic Party reprimands Houston Mayor John Whitmire, withholds future endorsement (houstonpublicmedia.org) — Houston residents may see political ripples after the Harris County Democratic Party voted to reprimand Mayor John Whitmire and bar him from future endorsements, responding to his appearance at a fundraiser for Rep. Dan Crenshaw. The largely symbolic move exposes growing rifts between party progressives and moderates that could shape the 2027 mayoral race.
